Top Import Brands of Heating Radiators on the Russian Market

The structure and volume of import into the Russian market of heating radiators underwent significant changes in the 1st quarter of 2016.

Transformation also spread to the major trademarks of heating radiators presented on the Russian consumption market.

It is highly indicative that in the 1st quarter of 2016 the top-10 rating list of imported aluminum and bimetal heating radiators trademarks was entered by five new most popular brands.

Since the 3rd quarter of 2015 the Russian market has been actively supplied with heating radiators VALFEX. By the results of the 1st quarter of 2016 this trademark entered the top-10 list of brands most largely imported into Russia.

According to expert data, in 2015 this brand was only in the 3rd ten of such rating. Both aluminum and bimetal heating radiators are currently imported under this brand into the Russian Federation.

Another newcomer into the top-10 import brands is ROMMER. Radiators of this brand are also provided by China. By the supply volume in the 1st quarter of 2016 ROMMER heating radiators overrode a range of popular brands and neared the leaders – GLOBAL and APRIORI.

Presently, ROMMER is importing aluminum and bimetal heating radiators into Russia. Before 2015 ROMMER radiators were not supplied to the Russian market at all.

Worth mentioning is appearing of another bimetal heating radiators trademark on the very top of the rating – CELCIA.

From January to March 2016 this trademark of heating radiators was imported into Russia most largely.

CELCIA bimetal heating radiators entered the Russian market in 2015.

By the supply volume in 2015 this brand was in the middle of the 3rd ten of the top-10 list of aluminum and bimetal heating radiators brands (with the supply volume of approx. 600 tons in 2015).

According to the customs statistics over 400 tons of CELCIA bimetal heating radiators were imported into Russia in the 1st quarter of 2016.

This trademark is developing not only in volumes but also in the model range. Apart from section heating radiators, last year they also started to produce steel panel heating radiators.

Manufacturer country of CELCIA bimetal heating radiators is Poland but the brand CELCIA is also actively used by Leroy Merlin, a large chain of construction hypermarkets. We sincerely hope that such active advance of this brand is driven by reasons of securing the product quality and care for the customer.

TEPLOWATT and RISPA heating radiators, as well as the trademarks mentioned above, also entered the top-10 most popular radiators brands by the results of the 1st quarter of 2016.

In 2015 these trademarks occupied the 33rd and the 82nd position in the leading expert rating respectively.

Some brands dropped out of the top-10 rating in the 1st quarter of 2016. They are heating radiators brands quite popular on the home market before – HALSEN, FIRENZE, LAMMIN and MONLAN. The supply volume of these trademarks in the 1st quarter of 2016 was insignificant.

It is to be believed that due to the efforts of state agencies and the activities of the Association of Heating Radiator Producers the structure of the Russian heating radiators market is changing for the better. New safe and quality radiators brands are entering the market.

However, the changes in the market can also be related to rebranding, when new heating radiators trademarks only cover old brands (heating devices with poor safety, quality and energy efficiency characteristics).

The last 6 months alone revealed radiators with incorrectly declared characteristics in 75 % of retail points. The APHR is continuing the public control action “Fair Radiator” to monitor heating radiators quality and will closely observe the dynamics of the home market.

We believe that dishonest suppliers and importers’ efforts to keep reputation launching new heating radiators brands into the market will be eliminated by way of creating and introducing a system of voluntary heating devices verification within the joint project of the Association of Heating Radiator Producers and the National Constructors’ Union of Russia. These risks can also be overcome by promoting to state agencies our Association’s initiative to implement mandatory certification of heating radiators by the decision of the Government of Russia.
